I guess my life is gonna change a little in October. :)
Time to start playing DMB every waking moment. It’s called brainwashing people… my child must love the greatest band ever. :)
Dadness
I’m gonna be a dad.
that’s the first time i’ve typed that.
wow…. kinda still doesn’t seem real.
I now have a stroller. I do think our stroller is super cool…
not sure what this ride is really gonna be like… but i guess i’ll find out. :)
I’m actually strangely excited to get a sweet diaper bag… wow.
I’ve got like 6 months to get ready…
I wonder what my kid is gonna be like?
Probably gonna either be a girl with my personality or a guy with Gretchen’s. haha…
As long as they love DMB we’ll be good.
I wonder if you can brainwash your kids while they are still “brewing”? You know… play them music, read to them, tell them to root for Michigan Football and hate Ohio State?
It’s wierd that this “gonna be a dad thing” feels so isolating yet so many people have done it too…
I wonder if when we go to the hospital it’ll be anything like the movies.
doubt it.
I wonder if in all the “classes” you take I’ll giggle when they show you stuff.
Probably.
I really can’t wait.
It’s gonna be so awesome.
I shall now fully embrace my impending dadness.

Yes indeed… Tiny Toms. My kid shall be sporting these ASAP. Well, after he or she is born, and I guess grows a little… but after that… no doubt.
This becoming a dad thing is actually pretty awesome.

My wife is getting big. (In a pregnancy way just to be clear)
I’m reading a book: The Expectant Father
That book tells me what to say & do, it’s gold. :)
I’m reading about what is going on with the baby each week…
MY MIND IS BLOW.
I’m realizing how much of a miracle child birth is.
I’m realizing how BIG & GOOD our GOD is.
I still sometimes feel too young to be a dad.
Sometimes I feel really ready to be a dad.
Sometimes I’m nervous to be a dad.
But most the time I’ so excited to be a dad. :)
Thoughts in Dadness
I watched ‘Away We Go’ last night. First time I’ve watched it knowing I’m gonna have a kid. It changed the experience to say the least…
I painted the babies room this weekend. It’s not that my wife’s growing belly doesn’t make it seem real, but there’s something about this empty room that’s painted a new color that makes it feel like its so soon…
We got a crib and dresser for the baby yesterday. @gretchenannlee HOOKED UP a deal! (surprising right?) One companies “old style” is a new parents new crib. :) When that stuff is in the babies room it’s gonna be crazy… and on a side note, didn’t know there where so many options with cribs… haha… add it to the list of things you learn as you become a dad. :)

That’s crazy!
I felt my kid move like never before.
It wasn’t a kick.
It wasn’t a punch.
It was like she was moving accross my wife’s stomach.
that was weird.
I can’t wait to meet that little one!
dadness shall be epic.

Dadness Update
I feel our little girl move like crazy now. Not just kicks, but like these crazy pushes.. wow it’s weird… but AWESOME. :)
The room is getting so close to completion. It’s crazy to walk by there everyday and see all the stuff… this is really happening.
Gretch has washed the clothes we have and has ‘em in drawers and some hanging in the closet.
Carter is so funny, everytime we’re in the babies room he comes and tries to sit on our laps… I think he senses himself getting replaced haha… he’s such a good boy, it’s still just him and I holding the dude factor down at the Lee house.
We’ve moved on to having doctor’s appointments every 2 weeks… that means we’re real close…
We start the “classes” in a couple weeks, that should be interesting… haha…
I’m reading a book “the happiest baby on the block” - WOW.
I’m trying not to watch anything that makes me think of girls at age 13.
Gretch’s belly is really popping out there… she’s so cute. :)
It’s only like 11 weeks away.
That’s like 11 Mondays.
woah.
then I shall be a dad, and have a daughter.
can’t wait to meet that little one, she’s gonna blow my mind.

Dadness: class begins tonight
Well it’s here.
The first baby class is tonight.
Not sure what goes on at these things, but if you know me you know that I’ve got a super short attention span and i’m pretty quick on the chuckle, so the combination of the two should be a perfect combination for this class about this kinda stuff. :)
I can’t believe the classes are here. That means we’re seriously on the home stretch.
In 10 weeks I’m gonna have a daughter.
Strange to think about I’m so close to meeting a little person that’s gonna re-define my life for the rest of my life…
crazy.
I’ll let ya know how this class goes… I’ll try not to embarrass my wife. :)

A tree for baby Lee. @brandonlowry painted a tree on the babies wall today… turned out so awesome!!! If you need some interior design work done… you should give him a call. :)
Baby class is done. That’s right… you’re reading the post of a proud graduate of Baby Class. That means I’m ready to be a dad right? Haha… seems crazy that this is gonna go down in 6 weeks-ish. Unreal.
Can’t wait to meet this little one!!!!

Dadness & Oldness
The two are closing in on me in a hurry. I often wondered what it would be like… to be a dad… to be 30… never thought I’d figure out both within the matter of a month! I’ve begin to realize that 30 really isn’t anything to be scared of… the kid on the other hand… haha… kidding kidding. :)
Honestly I really believe my 30’s are gonna be the best years yet. I think my 20’s where full of me figuring out who I was… what my gifts are (yes that takes a long time and is STILL a crazy work in progress)… what I can do, should do, and shouldn’t do… Full of figuring out how to be married… how to have somewhat “adult” relationships… etc.
and now I”m gonna be 30 and…
I’m gonna be a dad.
Crazy to think by the end of this next decade of my life this daughter of mine will be 10. WOW. and I’ll be 40 geesh… let’s not go there yet.
For those of you that went to college… this transition is kinda like the one when you graduate from college and enter “the real world”. It’s sad and happy. Your happy to have a job/get married/live on your own but your sad too… sad to leave your friends/lack of responsibility/etc.
I guess I write just to say that I’m pumped and a little nervous… pumped to be on this great adventure of being a dad, pumped to meet this little girl that’s gonna steal my heart, pumped for what’s next… but a little nervous about giving up on freedom… giving up on just my wife and I, nervous about giving up sleep for a while, and nervous about giving up on stuff I don’t even know I”m giving up on.
But more than anything… I can’t wait to see God in ways I’ve never seen him, and I can’t wait to meet my little one…

Dadness - 2 weeks
well… today is officially 2 weeks till our due date.
That means I could meet this little girl of mine any time now.
Just waiting the text/call/signal flair from Gretch.
That also means I’m gonna meet this little person that will be a part of my life, for the rest of my life. Crazy.
That also means my life is gonna change in ways I never thought possible.
That also means I shall be sleeping in this weekend and taking a few more naps that usual.
That also means I shall be figuring out a way to talk gretch into letting me pick up one of these:
oh yeah.
I can’t wait. :)
