Gretchen and I just got back from a long weekend get away up in the motherland (the West Coast of Michigan). We stayed in a bed and breakfast in South Haven.
I don’t wanna say it was the highlight, but this little movie theater in downtown South Haven blew my mind… I just had to share….
2 tickets = $8
2 buckets of popcorn = FREE
2 cokes = FREE
and a poster with the sub-title “an epic of epic epicness?” I was meant to be there.
but seriously. we watched 2 movies… haha… spent a total of 16 bucks, and each time we each got a popcorn and a coke. CRAZY.
You’ll see from the pics… this place was awesome.
you win again small town… you win again.
cheers,
j
PS - we saw two really bad movies, so I’m glad it was crazy cheap… :)
We love movies because they let us escape. But we are not escaping from reality as much as we are escaping into a clearer, more focused understanding of it. The movies we cherish the most are not those that feel the farthest from our experience. On the contrary, they are the ones that- in the darkness and stillness of a square, box room- reanimate the wonder and mystery of the world we know.
